WORKSHOPS & CLASSES

“Bringing people together to collaborate, learn new skills, and create community change.”

I create workshops, meetings and other gatherings that are transformative for the people involved and for the communities where they live, work, and play. As a skilled connector, I make sure the right people are in the room and then help them learn from each other, gain new skills, envision the changes they want to see, and work together to make it happen. I recruit co-facilitators with diverse voices – particularly immigrants and other community members – to share their stories and insights. My facilitation and training sessions are creative, lively and interactive, so participants can engage fully and connect with new ideas and with each other. My methods are based on my educational philosophy, which is that we learn better together, and we are able to do more together. Depending on the setting, I use games, music, art, poetry, role plays, simulations or other techniques.

"On behalf of the Whittier staff, I want to thank you for a fantastic, powerful and inspiring training! I can't think of a more meaningful training to have as a staff this year. Every activity, presentation and discussion was so insightful and gave us an opportunity to look at the Refugee and Immigrant experience in a new light. We are so grateful to be able to serve New American students and families who join our school community and this training provided new perspectives and strategies we can implement immediately and effectively. Kudos to you and your co-presenters for your work and passion! I would highly recommend this training to any school regardless of whether they have New Americans or not. This training is for everyone living in today's world."
