• Trauma – How does trauma interfere with learning? How can we respond to students who are triggered? What teaching methods foster resiliency?

• Multilingual Learners -- How does it feel to enter a classroom in a strange language, in a strange land? How can teachers (both content and MLL teachers) make learning accessible for new American students?

• Disruptive Behavior – What might be the roots of this for immigrant students? And what can we do about it?

• Cross-Cultural Kids – How do grief and identity play out for these students, and how can we be supportive?

• Family Engagement – What do refugee parents expect from schools? And what are some concrete techniques for communicating with families?
